CZ really doesn't make anything that isn't worth having. One can go broke with CZ.

I got the CZ bug. Only have their pistols but I'm thinking of making the jump to a rifle.

FBMG Smithy was good as his word. I went down to the shop at lunch the other day, pestered him with some more questions and walked out of there with a new Stag Arms AR-15. Thanks, dude!

And thanks to all of you who helped temper my ignorance on this topic. I wouldn't say I'm cured yet, but I'm getting better.

When I got home, first thing I had to do was take it apart and put it back together a few times. Legos were never this much fun! I'm going to wipe off the oil from the factory and go break it in at Get Some Monday night. If any of you are there and see a guy that barely knows what he's doing, that'll be me. Stop a minute and say hi.

Is it cheaper to build your own?

Yes, but if your time is valuable and you account for the price of the few tools you'll need, the difference is not terribly significant. I considered building my own, but admit I'm not particularly gifted mechanically and didn't want to compromise quality or mess up, so I opted for a complete package. Since then, I've taken my AR completely down a time or two and I'll definitely be building my next one.

That all depends. If you are going to be changing triggers, barrels, and bolt/carrier then it is cheaper to build. If you are doing no more than changing the stocks, grips, ect then it is cheaper to get a base model and make your simple changes.

Matai, I think I was in there the same time as you. I was the other "ignorant" person wearing a black vest and listening to the sales pitch. I ended up buying one also. You got the last one in stock and so I had to get mine ordered. Maybe that was you or maybe not. If it was you did you get your front sight yet? Either way we'll both have to figure this thing out. I haven't got mine yet but should have it next week. I have about 10 questions to ask FBMG when I pick up my gun.
