I've shot a CZ75 SP-01 and a Sig P229. both had a double action option on the trigger.
The CZ (while an awesome gun) had a long "stagey" and "gritty" DA trigger pull. The SA was better
The Sig, was smooth as silk and easy to pull consistently. Only issue I personally had was no SA option.
I'm considering the FNP USP but am weary about the DA pull.
Remember, this is coming from a guy who loves the triggers on a Glock and 1911.

Have you looked at the FNS? Its basically a stiker fired FNP.

Double action is long and heavy, no two ways about it. But I don't use the double action. For my EDC and in competition I carry "cocked and locked." The single action is quite good, it's very short and only has a tiny bit of "mushyness" in it. It doesn't break quite as cleanly as some SAO guns, but I like it quite a lot. As for the FNS suggestion, I'm actually thinking on getting an FNS-9 "for my wife."
