BB guns are considered a firearm if I'm not mistaken, and therefore they can not regulate the display of a BB gun. Or Airsoft gun in a city park. can only regulate the discharge of said guns.

76-10-501(10) (a) "Firearm" means a pistol, revolver, shotgun, sawed-off shotgun, rifle or sawed-off rifle, or a device that could be used as a dangerous weapon from which is expelled a projectile by action of an explosive.

I don't think air soft or BB guns fit the Utah definition of a firearm. Maybe, depending on the usage, a 'dangerous weapon'.

I think it would be far more restrictive for bb, airsoft, and other such "guns" to be legally considered "firearms" than for them to not be so considered.

As annoying as it is for a nanny state city to ban display or discharge of such things, imagine the issues if every 10 year old with an airsoft or water gun were legally in possession of a "firearm" as if he had a .357 in hand.

I don't think the capguns are anywhere near as loud as the "tricycle motors"!
