Saturday CFP Class?

Postby SBorg on Tue 03 Jul 2012 11:07 am

I was looking around at most of the schedules that I've been able to search for, and I'm finding it somewhat difficult to find a CFP class on a weekend at a good deal (reasonable price for the whole shibang of fingerprints, class, photo, etc.). Most of them are during the week at 6PM and are somewhat far from Orem, which makes it hard for me to go because I work Monday-Friday from 11am to 8pm and I'm out of vacation time for the next few months.

I was wondering if any of the CFP instructors on here would be willing to set up a Saturday class that includes all of the paperwork and such for my application so I can get it submitted and start the ticking to get my permit, for a reasonable price, preferably less than $50. Anyone willing to do this, or know anyone would may be willing?

Thanks =]

If you're willing to drive out to Tooele I'm attempting to set one up for Friday, July 27, 4 to 8 pm.

Most of the instructors here charge between $35-45 for their classes, and they usually include all that stuff.

To go out to Tooele by 4pm on a Friday I'd have to leave work at like 2pm =\, and it would cost 25 bucks in gas to go there and back.

Yeah, I've seen that. But a lot of them only really do classes consistently during the week, and the majority of them start at 6pm and are 30+ minutes away.

I'm going to be doing a class in Saratoga Springs in July - will likely be a Saturday from 0900-1400. Cost is $40 for the class (includes fingerprints & photo). Keep an eye on the calendar at www.utahcfp.biz or e-mail me at utahcfp@gmail.com if interested.

This guy http://www.utahsdi.com/ has a Sat class at 10am on July 21st that I just registered for today, and he's got good reviews. Don't know who else is signed up, if any.......come do it with me. The more guys that sign up, the more willing he'll be to keep the class open. It's in Sandy, off of 114th S. and 2300 E or thereabouts.

It's $50, but he does everything you're asking, and he'll take your application to BCI for you as well...for $25 more, he'll do the AZ permit that gets you NV KS and NM too.....if you pay via Paypal it's $5 cheaper.

Hit me up here or in a PM and let me know if you're going; be nice to meet another forum member.

So, who is "this guy" that you speak of? Website? Is he on this site? I'm sure there are good instructors that are not on this site, but they are more likely to do a great job if they are. The instructors here know the laws pretty well, and don't teach opinion as law, at least from what I have seen.

LMAO.......man, I edited that post 4 times to add info, and never added the guy's business! Thanks, Snurd.

Sorry, long day hiking. I copied it with the intention to paste, I swear. :D

I may not be able to make the one you e-mailed me about (on the 14th). Some stuff came up and I don't have $40 to do it this paycheck.

I'll have to see if I'm maybe able to do this one, since I would have been paid by then.

Well, I would recommend you take the class from some one on this board. If you can't though, a lot of gun shots will run them. I did mine at Impact in ogden, and I know they run them on every other Saturday. Heck, even sportsmans warehouse in riverdale does them, so its worth checking around.
