I don't know why, but sometime last night the web server software (lighttpd) lost the ability to communicate with the php fastcgi process(es) which actually run the forums. I'll continue investigating to try to determine why and how so that we can hopefully prevent it from happening again. For the moment at least, a simple restart of the web server software seems to have fixed the problem. {knock on wood}
In reviewing logs, I see that Google Bot attempted to connect to "utahconcealedcarry.com" at 21:32:04 last night and was automatically redirected to "www.utahconcealedcarry.com". That part is normal. After that, every access to the server (UCC as well as other sites hosted on the machine) resulted in a 503 error.
Nice to have the site back. I have noticed probably about 4 or 5 times in the last month and a half where this has happened. Usually it is a error of "500 internal server error", but this time I had that one, and the 503 error as well.
Other than the winter billing error, last night's 503 error is the only one that I've encountered over the past 9 months.
