I cant agree with this. I just got a Benchmade knife from Cabelas. In itsy bitsy letters on the blade it says "CHINA". :disgusted: I won't support them again even if I know the knife was made in the USA. You just don't know anymore. The add from Cabelas even showed the logo with USA under it on the blade. That logo is on the knife without the USA. I would even consider it deceptive advertising. I should have known when the price was so good.

I'm going to return it.

Like has been stated already, there are MANY good knives that will fit your requirements. The one I like and carry now is this Kershaw. It is very sharp and has a 3.8" blade with assisted opening and a very tight blade lock. You can get it for $50 so you won't break the bank

Benchmade had 4 classes of knives, Gold, Blue, Black and Red. From the outset Benchmade said that their Red class knives were imported and, they describe them as, offering “best in class” value. In other words less expensive than their U.S. made lines. The Red class was discontinued this year, and the remaining inventory bought up by retailers at deep discount. Cabelas probably got one H@ll of a deal on a quantity of these knives and just capitalized on the Benchmade name.
Good people do not need laws to tell them to act responsibly, while bad people will find a way around the laws.
