With powder in tow? Woohoo! Guess I will have to be there. But alas, I will be coming alone. :( (well except for the firearm)

p.s. did find someone to come with me so there will be two.

We're meeting up outside of the restaurant at around 6pm.

I had a good time meeting everybody. There were 10 of us (at least as of the time I left).

Thanks to everyone for coming out. It was great to see a couple of familiar faces, and meet others who I've only known from the forum.

Thanks for setting up the meet. It was very nice to talk with Maniakmedic and see some new faces.

And I only spent a total of $215, $25 for the food and wonderful company and $190 for my powder. On the way home my son determined that I can load about 560 rounds of .223 with it. Not enough! I need MORE!

Just saying.

If you are loading 25 grains per round, 16 pounds will do 4480 rounds.

7000 grains per pound, X 16 pounds = 112,000 grains.

112,000 grains / 25 grain per round = 4480 rounds.

...probably a topic for the ammo bench. ;)

I had a good time as well! Good to see David Nelson again, and it was good to meet Ian and glock fan.
Let not my last thought be “ If only I had my gun ”;
and Lord if today is truly the day that You call me home,
let me die in a pile of empty brass.

I see where I went wrong. it is 7000 grains per pound, not per 8 pounds. I must have been tired.

Thanks Kevin.

Now that you have your powder, you can have fun rounding up the primers, cases and bullets. :D Don't know about you, but it would take me at least a day to load 4,480 rounds of .223 ammo using "once fired" brass.

Have fun with your new project. :P

At the gun show a year ago I picked up 2000 pieces of fired-once .223, already sized. My dad has over 3000 .223 bullets and I got 1000 bullets from Gallenson's a while back. I have been buying primers for a while. I have enough stuff that I could load up all 2000 .223 and 500 .30-06 and have stuff left over.

All I have is a single stage press so it would take me a very long time to do it but hey, I don't much any else to do.

I feel ya on the single stage press. It takes me a while to load large quantities of ammo using my rock chucker. :-(
